The York Anglo-Scandinavian Society (YASS) brings together people in the York area with a common interest in Scandinavia.

If you have been to one of the Scandinavian countries, studied a Nordic language, if you have family or friends there, or if you just want to become more involved in some aspect of Scandinavian/Nordic life, language, culture or history, come to one of our events or contact us about joining YASS. Join the York Anglo-Scandinavian Society (YASS) to keep in touch with events and activities organised by YASS throughout the year.

YASS Members receive:

• The annual programme of meetings and updates on language groups and additional events as they are added to the main programme.
• Priority advance booking for events when there is a limit on numbers
• The invitation to the Annual General Meeting which is normally held in April each year.
• Access to our library of Danish-language DVDs

• Whatever your skills or experience, you will be welcome to share in the work of running events and/or supporting the activities of the Society.
• By joining YASS you will also be supporting the work done by CoScan , the Confederation of Scandinavian Societies in the UK, including the CoScan Trust Fund.
• Membership rates are: Ordinary member: £15, Family membership £25, Student membership £10
• Payment can be made:
  • In person at one of our regular meetings at the Norwegian Study Centre
  • Through your bank by setting up a Standing Order
  • By online Bank Transfer using the account details on our Membership Form, and giving your name as a Reference
• If you make a Bank Transfer payment, please let us know by email so we can update our membership lists.
